The course provides candidates with the necessary underpinning knowledge and practical ability to be able to accurately maintain and operate the sanding equipment on the relevant rolling stock.

On successful completion of the course the trainee will be able to, in accordance with the relevant Technical Standards and procedures:

• Identify the locations of the various components
• Understand what functions these provide
• Carry out system maintenance
• Carry out correct operation
• Have the ability to rectify any faults encountered.
